May 2023 Blog Hop

This month we are given the liberty to do anything we want! How exciting!!

When I laid my eyes on the Little Monkey Bundle in the new annual catalogue, I knew I have to get it. My aim is to collect as many animal stamps and punches as possible because you never know when it’s going to come in handy one day, haha. Moreover I’m born in the Year of Monkey in the Chinese zodiac calendar. So I like anything that has monkeys on it.

I need a card for an upcoming birthday for a 4-year-old, so this was what I came up with featuring these monkeys. I coloured in the monkeys using Stampin’ Blends and with just a light touch of Balmy Blue for the sky using a blending brush.

I hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Sharon has come up with!

April 2023 Blog Hop

This month we are given a sketch challenge.

It’s the time of the year when we are about to say goodbye to some fabulous products before the new Annual Catalogue is launched in May.  I’d like to take this chance to showcase some of them before they retire.

For this card, I’ve used Layering Diorama Dies and the scene in the background is from Mountain Air stamp set.  The sentiment and seashells are from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set. I’ve actually had the Diorama Dies for a while but I’ve only started using it now!

The cardstock used for layering are Soft Suede and Mint Macaron, two of my favourite colours which will also be retiring soon!  I hope you like my card which was inspired by Bekki White.

Thanks for stopping by.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Nikki has come up with!

November 2022 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! This month we were given a sketch challenge.

I picked the Penguin Place stamp set with the intention to make a Christmas, hence the choice of red cardstock used here. However when I saw that my Biggest Wish stamp set needed some love, turned my card into a birthday card instead. I really like the bold sentiments from this stamp set.

Word ‘Happy’ was stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Real Red and Flirty Flamingo with the help of the Stamparatus. When I was stamping the word, not only did I move the Stamparatus plate one hinge up, I also moved my cardstock in a different direction to created a bigger gap between the words.

The cute penguin was punched out with the Penguin Builder punch and the card was embellished with Cute Stars Adhesive Backed Sequins which is currently on the Clearance Rack.

I hope you like my card which was inspired by Debbie Henderson.  Do hop on to the next blog to see what Marelle had come up with!

September 2022 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! This month we are given a sketch challenge.

It’s never too early to start making Christmas cards. So I’ve decided to use the Merriest Moments stamp set that coordinates with the Merriest Frames Dies. These dies come in a bundle with a beautiful embossing folder but I’d like to try something different today without the embossing folder.

I’ve stamped my own background instead on Mint Macaron cardstock. The poinsettias were stamped in Blushing Bride and the cardbase is Garden Green cardstock. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

I hope you like my card.  Do hop on to the next blog to see what Melissa had come up with!

June 2022 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! This month we are given a sketch challenge.

I embossed the background with Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder on Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I sponged the raised bricks with Cajun Craze ink. The stamp sets I have used for this card were Celebrate Sunflowers, Painted Poppies for the splatter and Friends are Like Seashells for the sentiment.

I hope you like my card.  Do hop on to the next blog to see what Marelle had come up with!

April 2022 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! This month we are given a sketch challenge.

For the background, I used the pretty Beauty of the Earth DSP and I complimented it with some green and gold sprigs punched out with the Sprig punch. I tucked the sprigs under the sentiment from Artistically Inked stamp set. I will miss the DSP and the punch when they retire!

I hope you like my card.  Do hop on to the next blog to see what Marelle had come up with!

March 2022 Blog Hop

This month’s blog hop requires us to use these 3 In Colours.  I’m happy to have a reason to use these colours before they retire May.  I will surely miss Magenta Madness.

I made this card using Seas the Day bundle, the newest bundles I’ve got 😊

I was super thrilled when I saw Simply Marbleous DSP from the current Sale-a-bration promotion.  Don’t you think this marble design also looks like water?  It goes so well with this bundle!

I wanted to show as much details as possible of the corals and bubbles, so I decided to put my sentiment on a small strip.  The sentiment is from Artistically Inked stamp set.

I hope you like my card.  Do hop on to the next blog to see what Elizabeth has come up with!

February 2022 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! This month we are given a sketch challenge.

My mum’s birthday is coming up next month, so I’ve taken this opportunity to make a card for her.

I really like making the 3D peony from the Prized Peony set but having a 3D peony on a card means I’d have to deliver the card by hand as putting it in the post might damage the petals.

My mum has come from Malaysia to stay with me in the last few months, so this is the perfect opportunity to make this for her!  I hope she’d like it.

The peony was cut out from vellum cardstock.  I’ve added some shimmer to the peony by brushing the petals with Wink of Stella.  Then I used Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend to brush the edges of the petals followed by Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend to colour in the whole petal.  The DSP used is from Pattern Party DSP and I’ve also embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by. We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Linda Geater has come up with!

September 2021 Blog Hop

This month we were given a sketch challenge.  I don’t usually put my sentiment in the middle of the card so for this challenge I’ve decided to use daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set so that the sentiment doesn’t obstruct the beautiful flowers. The Medium Daisy Punch punches out the daisies beautifully and the sentiment is from Friends are like Seashells.  I left the more difficult decision to the last and choosing a DSP for the background was my second last step because Stampin’ Up! has got so many pretty DSP to choose from. I decided on the Pattern Party DSP and from the colours on the paper I chose, I picked Flirty Flamingo for my card base.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  If you have just joined me, hop on to the next blog to see what Kylie Page had come up with in the next blog!

July 2021 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! I always look forward to see what the others in the team has created. This month we are given a sketch challenge.

I’ve decided to use products from In the Wild Suite for this challenge.  This is not the usual type of stamp set that I’d buy but my wish is to have as many different types of animals as I can in my stamp set collection.

I’ve used the Animal Print embossing folder for the background.  After embossing, I swiped my Smoky Slate inkpad over the raised animal prints to give more depth.  The tiger was die cut from In the Wild DSP.  The image of the tiger on the DSP is actually a mirror image of the tiger die from the Big Cats Dies.  I cut up the section of the DSP where the tiger is.  Then I flipped it over and held it against the light so I could still see the image of the tiger from the back of the DSP.  Still holding the paper against the light, I placed the die on the back of the tiger and secured it with washi tape.  Then I ran it through the embossing machine and voila, you have tiger cut out!

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Elizabeth Yager has come up with!
