September 2021 Blog Hop

This month we were given a sketch challenge.  I don’t usually put my sentiment in the middle of the card so for this challenge I’ve decided to use daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set so that the sentiment doesn’t obstruct the beautiful flowers. The Medium Daisy Punch punches out the daisies beautifully and the sentiment is from Friends are like Seashells.  I left the more difficult decision to the last and choosing a DSP for the background was my second last step because Stampin’ Up! has got so many pretty DSP to choose from. I decided on the Pattern Party DSP and from the colours on the paper I chose, I picked Flirty Flamingo for my card base.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  If you have just joined me, hop on to the next blog to see what Kylie Page had come up with in the next blog!

July 2021 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again! I always look forward to see what the others in the team has created. This month we are given a sketch challenge.

I’ve decided to use products from In the Wild Suite for this challenge.  This is not the usual type of stamp set that I’d buy but my wish is to have as many different types of animals as I can in my stamp set collection.

I’ve used the Animal Print embossing folder for the background.  After embossing, I swiped my Smoky Slate inkpad over the raised animal prints to give more depth.  The tiger was die cut from In the Wild DSP.  The image of the tiger on the DSP is actually a mirror image of the tiger die from the Big Cats Dies.  I cut up the section of the DSP where the tiger is.  Then I flipped it over and held it against the light so I could still see the image of the tiger from the back of the DSP.  Still holding the paper against the light, I placed the die on the back of the tiger and secured it with washi tape.  Then I ran it through the embossing machine and voila, you have tiger cut out!

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Elizabeth Yager has come up with!

June 2021 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again!  This month we are given a colour challenge.  We’d need to have black and white on the card and we get to pick the third colour!

I have decided to use Crushed Curry for the peony that I wanted put on my card because this bright colour really pops.  I really love making this 3D peony.  It looks sophisticated but yet incredibly simple to assemble thanks for the very clever dies designed by Stampin’ Up!  After die cutting the petals, I sponged the outer areas using Crushed Curry ink and curled them with a bone folder.  It took me less than 5 minutes to assemble this gorgeous flower.  That’s how easy it was to make this!

The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set and I punched it out with the Tailored Tag punch.  I’ve also embossed the background with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Elizabeth Yager has come up with!

April 2021 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again!  This month’s challenge is to make a fancy fold card.

I have decided to make a corner fold card.  The DSP is from Flowers for Every Season and I have picked the Zany Zebras stamp set to make a fun-looking card.  Out of the many fancy folds that I have made in the past, this is really quick and easy to make because you don’t need a specific measurement for the corner fold.  All you need to do is score at an angel and ensure that the area fits the elements you want put there, in my case it’s the 2 zebras.

You then cut the DSP at the same angel.  The cut corner won’t go to waste because you can use it to decorate the inside of the card.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.

February 2021 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again!  This month we were given a sketch challenge.

I was so thrilled that the Hey Chick stamp set has come back this month, so I decided to feature these cute chicks on my card.   I’ve coloured in the chicks with watercolour pencils which I haven’t been using lately.

The background of the card was stamped with All Wired Up stamp set and the embossed panel was embossed with Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  If you have just joined me, do hop on to the next blog to see what Kylie Page had come up with!

October 2020 Blog Hop

It’s time for blog hop again!  This month we were given a colour challenge.

I initially struggled with the colour combination but I thought Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry look very much tropical to me.  So I chose the Timeless Tropical stamp set against the retired Noble Peacock Specialty DSP.

The layout of the card was inspired by Gail Ellis with minor tweaks.  I would usually have my leaves in green but this hop is a colour challenge and only neutral colours are permitted apart from the given colours. So my leaves are stamped and die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  If you have just joined me, hop on to the next blog to see what Marelle Taylor had come up with!

September 2020 Blog Hop

This month we were given a sketch challenge.  The stamp set that I have used for this card is Zany Zebras.  The zebra is oh, so cute!  The zebra being in black and white, I wanted to make my card bright and cheerful, so I picked Magenta Madness for my card base.

The strip of DSP behind the zebra is from Flowers for Every Season.  Like what the name of the DSP implies, the pack comes with pretty floral designs but you can get non-floral designs on the other side of the papers which was what I did!

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  If you have just joined me, hop on to the next blog to see what Nikki Stalker had come up with in the next blog!

May 2020 Blog Hop

It’s been a while since I last took part in this blog hop and it’s great to be back!  Life has been pretty full on with a little one to care for and I really missed crafting.

This month we are given a sketch challenge.  This layout can be easily used for any stamp set but it took me some time to decide which stamp set to use!  In the end I chose one that will be retiring soon from the Mini Catalogue because this is one of the many that I will definitely miss.  This stamp set is called Music From The Heart and it was the first on my order list as soon as the Mini Catalogue came out.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Meighan Wheller has come up with!

October Blog Hop

It’s time for Blog Hop again!  This time the design of our card is based on a given sketch.

This sketch works easily with any stamped images.  I’ve been playing with the Back on Your Feet stamp set quite a bit recently so I’ve made this card using the sloth from the stamp set and pairing it with ferns from the Daisy Lane stamp set to match the overall leafy design of the card.  The background was embossed with the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder and the strip of pretty paper is from Come To Gather Designer Series Paper.

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Kylie Page has come up with in the next blog!

September Blog Hop

It’s time for Blog Hop again and I was delighted to know that the challenge this month is to use anything from the Holiday Catalogue.  The catalogue just has launched this month and it has now given me another reason to play with the new lovely products 🙂

I have chosen to use the new Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder for a gorgeous gleaming background.

The sentiment is from the Greatest Part of Christmas stamp set, a great hostess set with so many Christmas and New Year sentiments to choose from.

I then decorated the card with Christmas trees and pine cones from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.  I love how the trees come with a coordinating punch which makes cutting them out so easy!

I hope you like my card.  We have so many creative crafters in this group, I hope you’d be able to get more inspirations from this talented team.  Hop on to the next blog to see what Melissa Gifford has come up with in the next blog!
